Arthur in Atherton Hospital. Being repaired after injuring his leg with a grinder with a tungston blade jammed and took a chunck out just below the knee. Had it been the other leg we could have just ordered another one.

Tinnaroo lake. We got to put the boat in after a long "dry" and set our redclaw pots tried the fishing but all to no avail. Then the water was not flowing out of the motor as it should so we pulled it out again

Wallaman Falls - Spectacular particularly after good rains like now. And it is easy to get to. Walk to the bottom if you are game. It is a long way back up again.

Visit to Paluma is well worth the visit there is a lovely little township there and lots of lovely secenry and walks. Plus the best cheese cake ever.

This fence goes for several kilometers and is replacing the old dingo fence of wire mesh which had been there for a long long time. more »

We had a grass fire in the hay paddock at Olga caused by jumper lead terminals arcing. Carmel Peter and I were right there but it got away from us in no time at all. Beating it had little or no effect.

Our arrival at Olga Downs was somewhat spectacular, but no damage done. The winch rope on the boat had broken and whilst the trailer was chained down the boat was being held by one strap after the wire rope broke. Lucky

Giant Kelp at Killarny Beach. We stayed at a park just on the beach. As I was walking on the beach two guys nearly drowned their car but I could not get there quick enough for a picture.

Dahlias at Portland Botanical Gardens and the Aluminium smelter. There were great stacks of aluminium ingots stored there and this conveyer travels a great distance to the port .

Crystal Ponds near Pt Macdonnell. These ponds are very deep and have underwater caves. A big draw card for divers.

Dartmoor carved tree. There are lots and lots of carved tree stumps lining the town. Many of them are dedicated soldier memorials. Very impressive and interesting we will probably stay there over Easter.

From Robe we went to Beachport and Southend through Mt Gambia and south to visit Kae, Colin’s wife who was at their farm at Mt Shank. This is irrigated dairy country and they lease the farm out. The dairy next door (see pics) milks 700 cows each day.… more »
